About Our Church
A congregation anchored in Scripture, committed to one another, and sent into our community.
Purpose
Our Mission
The mission of Bend Southern Baptist Church is to glorify God by making disciples of all nations proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, baptizing believers, and teaching them to observe all that Jesus has commanded.
Direction
Our Vision
We envision a congregation putting God first, showing genuine love toward one another, and faithfully engaged in the life of our family and surrounding community. We long to see men and women transformed by the grace of God and built up into mature followers of Jesus Christ.
What We Believe
Core Values
Scripture Alone
We hold the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, sufficient Word of God the final authority in all matters of faith and practice, and the only rule by which we may glorify God.
Christ-Centered Worship
Our worship is shaped by Scripture and centered on the triune God. The Father, our Creator; the Son, whose life, death, and resurrection redeem mankind; and The Holy Spirit, who sustains, sanctifies, and transforms God's people.
Gospel Community
We are committed to fellowship, mutual accountability, and bearing one another's burdens as a family of faith.
Faithful Witness
We seek to be a faithful witness to our neighbors in Horseshoe Bend through word, deed, and the integrity of our common life together.
Expository Preaching
We are committed to expository preaching (opening the Word of God word by word, passage by passage, book by book), trusting that Scripture itself is the power of God for salvation and growth in every believer.
Prayer
We believe prayer is the lifeblood of the church. We are devoted to expanding our dependence on God through corporate, family, and personal prayer, seeking His face in every season of life and ministry.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." 2-Timothy 3:16

Our History
Bend Southern Baptist Church was founded on the conviction that the gospel must go to the whole earth and the everyone needs to hear the good news and have the opportunity to be discipled in Christ. Believing that the Word of God is sufficient for all of life, the church has sought to be an unwavering, faithful presence, preaching the gospel, administering the ordinances, and caring for souls through every season. Together, we have been through many trials and storms, and by the grace of God we have passed through the fire sanctified.
